Blogtober 2022 - Day 10 🌞

After a break yesterday I'm back and feeling inspired again! As I was walking earlier I was thinking that October is a good month to daily blog because so much changes at this time of year. At the start of the month it's still feeling like the end of summer, it's still warm  and we're picking tomatoes, but by the end of the month it will be getting cold, dark and wintery.

It's lovely at the moment, bright and fresh with a clear, blue sky and I've enjoyed getting outside these past few days (although clearly I enjoy it whatever the weather if you saw this post recently 😆).

On Saturday when I arrived at my mum's house the neighbour's very pretty cat was sat on the wall just begging to be photographed! In the afternoon we went for a nice walk hoping we might find some final blackberries, but alas the season is well and truly over. So soon! The walk was fun anyway and as you can see Jethro enjoyed some quality time with Auntie Ellie.

When we got back the cat had made himself comfy on the roof of the car so I almost brought him home with me! Jethro is always happy to see Ed when he gets back from work (although I'm not sure his facial expression really shows it here haha).

The next day was Sunday, after coming home from church and having our lunch we decided to go out for a walk with the pushchair. We love carrying the baby in the sling so much that the pushchair doesn't get much use but we want to get him more comfortable in it. There was a bit of a chill in the air so we took the opportunity to wrap him up in one of the sweet woolly cardigans knitted by his granny 💛 gotta make the most of it before he grows out of them! He seems to have discovered his tongue recently:

Next up, me having a matchy moment with some virginia creeper 🍁 and Ed giving a thumbs up because we got Jethro to sleep! He doesn't have much trouble sleeping but it still feels like an achievement every time we see him so calm and peaceful. Doesn't it look so cosy being pushed around like that, wrapped in a blanket on an autumn day? Oh to be a baby...

We played a board game when we got home and then got cracking (or crackling hahaha) making a delicious roast pork dinner, including homegrown parsnips freshly pulled from the ground and homemade apple sauce with these bramleys that Ed was given at work:

10/10 roast (I'm going through a big cabbage phase right now 😍)

This morning Jethro and I took a trip to the garden centre to introduce him to some of my work friends:

Then we explored a footpath I've never been down before which ended up being quite picturesque:

We passed some curious yet shy sheep 🐑...

...and wandered through a churchyard:

I picked up a conker and admired some unusual architecture:

As you can see it was very sunny 🌞 but there was a nice breeze which stopped me from getting too warm. Perfect walking weather!

Lots of jolly autumn berries...

...and a lone apple tree:

When we got home I had some washing to hang up and I thought our colourful socks were worth documenting 🌈 we love a statement sock in this house! Something else I'm loving is that after having our washing machine for 2+ years I have just discovered the option to set the wash cycle to delay for a few hours and then start later which is proving very useful. I feel like I'm properly adulting now! It really is the small things 😆
